Anger Management Workshop

anger managementAnger affects us all. It is a perfectly normal human emotion. It motivates us to defend ourselves and affect change for the greater good of society.

Anger becomes a problem when it affects us or our relationship negatively.

Kildare Psychotherapy & Counselling have designed a 4 week (4 x 90 minutes) programme, which can also be run as a one day event.

This programme has been run successfully with the Community Addiction Response Programme (CARP) in Dublin and the Drug-free And Recovery Assistance (DARA) project in Kildare.

The programme looks at:

  • The negative impact of anger
  • The neuroscience of anger
  • Triggers of rage
  • How our anger is expressed
  • Understanding the multi-generational transmission of anger
  • Physiological anger warning signs
  • Identifying personal anger triggers
  • Anger management skills
  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) for anger
  • Regaining control when angry
  • Things to avoid
  • Passive & aggressive anger vs. assertive
  • Mindfulness

The programme is experiential and includes information, worksheets, group participation and practical examples. It can be modified and tailored to suit your individual group needs.
